India Progressing Under Modi's Leadership: Ajit Pawar After Joining Maharashtra Government

In a press briefing following his decision to join the Maharashtra government as the Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar expressed his belief that India is progressing under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He stated that the decision to support the government and join forces with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was taken to contest the upcoming elections together.

Highlighting the progress made under PM Modi's leadership, Ajit Pawar emphasized his popularity both within the country and internationally. He acknowledged the support and appreciation received by PM Modi and stated that they would fight the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections alongside the BJP.

Ajit Pawar, along with eight other NCP leaders, took oath as minister in the Maharashtra government. He mentioned that there would be discussions on portfolios at a later stage. Ajit Pawar also clarified that he had spoken to all the MLAs, and they agreed with his decision, even though some of them were currently out of the country.

Asserting that the NCP has the support of all its MLAs, Ajit Pawar highlighted the importance of a majority in a democracy. He stated that the NCP, being a 24-year-old party, believes in encouraging young leaders to come forward.

The decision of Ajit Pawar and the rebel NCP leaders to join the Maharashtra government represents significant political development in the state. The alliance between the NCP and the BJP is expected to shape the political landscape leading up to the upcoming elections.
